Responsibilities:
Purpose and Summary of position:
Under the direction of the Operator Work Group Lead, the IBU Operator is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and controlling all equipment and processes of the Ibuprofen Operating Unit.
Maintain optimum control, efficiency and safety of the unit and equipment by monitoring and evaluating process variables and sample results.
Utilize and comply with Celanese Work Processes, Standard Work Practices (SWPs), and the Standard Operator Procedures (SOPs).
Actively participates in equipment maintenance by conducting routine rounds/inspections, troubleshooting, writing notifications, preparing equipment for maintenance and executing the permitting process.
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and company standards to ensure safety, health, and environmental excellence.
Actively promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications:
Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
2 years or equivalent education
High School diploma or equivalent
Participation and maintenance of a team-oriented work environment for the safe operation and maintenance of the unit.
Strong Work ethic.
Strong distillation column skills and demonstrated experience.
Desire to excel and achieve results.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
Mechanical and Technical aptitude.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts with overtime.
Desirable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Education - two (2) years of college training or vocational-technical school with a strong knowledge of mathematics and chemistry, or equivalent work related experience in a process operations environment.
Previous leadership experience.
Previous experience in operations or a maintenance craft.
Interest in serving on the Emergency Response Team.
